nopal benefits

I. The origins of nopal

The nopal, also known as the "prickly pear", is a cactus native to Mexico. Very important in Mexican culture, it is depicted on the national flag. It is known for its fruit, the prickly pear, which has a delicately sweet flavor.

The flesh of the nopal is now particularly prized for culinary purposes.

It's a cactus that can grow up to 5 meters tall ! It can be recognized by its flattened, oval-shaped leaves. It can produce yellow, orange, pink or red flowers. Various virtues have been attributed to nopal leaves over the centuries, notably to relieve digestive problems, and heal burns, wounds and oedemas.

Today, their slimming and anti-diabetic qualities in particular have aroused worldwide interest.

In phytotherapy, it is the leaf that is most widely used for its soluble fiber content. It is harvested, prepared and supplied in various formats such as powders, extracts, tablets...

II. The benefits of Nopal

Nopal has many benefits!

It's your number 1 ally when it comes to diet for a weight reduction. It mainly reduces cravings and snacking. It has a fat-burning effect thanks to the high fibre content of its leaves.

In addition to absorbing fats in the digestive system, fiber helps regulate appetite, making it an excellent appetite suppressant.

The presence of nopal fibers in the digestive system is also a factor in reducing the absorption of sugars in the body after a meal. This helps prevent a blood sugar spike, particularly for controlling diabetes. It is, however, strongly recommended to consult a physician to avoid any interactions with ongoing medical treatments.

Nopal can also be used as a remedy for stomach pains, as the fibers present in the leaves form a "gel" that protects the stomach walls. It can also be used to alleviate the symptoms of alcohol abuse, such as nausea, dry mouth and lack of appetite.

Applied as a poultice on the skin, it has an antibiotic power that would stop the development of many bacteria, and it is very beneficial for the skin since it would heal wounds and infections.

At D-LAB NUTRICOSMETICS, we offer Nopal Absolute as a complement to our Fat Burner Program to capture and eliminate lipids before they are assimilated by the body.

We use a high dose of nopal to activate weight loss through three complementary actions: it controls sugar levels, increases the sensation of satiety and absorbs sugars and fats to reduce calorie intake.

The Fat Burner Program activates four interdependent levers. It increases basal metabolic rate to burn more fat at rest, deploys thermogenesis to increase caloric expenditure, stimulates elimination systems to prevent fat storage, and cleanses filter organs to improve their detoxifying power and restart the cycle.
